RECENT GRADUATE

In May 2018, I graduated as a member of the first-ever cohort of the Emerging Media masters, a new degree concentration within the Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication at UGA.

My Emerging Media coursework focused on project management, digital media design, emerging media storytelling, user research, and interaction design. 

Along the way, I dabbled in rhetorical theory, environmental communication, and completed a few independent projects of my own. 

Unlike most graduate programs, EM is a non-thesis option (phew). Instead, it culminates in a capstone project, an emerging media solution that utilizes all of the skills learned in previous courses. I spent a semester designing and developing the prototype for iNViVO, a mobile/web application designed to serve as a digital companion for prolonged exposure (PE) therapy, one of the fastest growing treatments for PTSD.
