One of the courses offered in the Emerging Media masters program is called Social Media Analytics, Listening and Engagement. In this course, we learned the necessary skills to measure, collect, analyze and report web data for the purposes of understanding and optimizing emerging media systems. Topics include Google Analytics, Crimson Hexagon, big data, data mining, and social monitoring.
As a part of my coursework, I worked with a partner to conduct a case study on TED-Ed's social media accounts. We used Crimson Hexagon to analyze the social media presence of TED-Ed and evaluate the success of their present digital strategy. The presentation above details our findings and recommendations.
